Gertrude leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Gertrude’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Gertrude will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Pierce and Mabel Pierce. She is survived by: her husband Herbert L. Bauer, Jr.; her children, David Bauer (Cathy), Cathy Bauer Sciarrino (Jamie) and Tim Bauer (Dawn); and her grandchildren, Michael (Crystal), Kimberly Sciarrino, Jeremiah Collins, Daniel Collins, Austin Bauer and Jackson Bauer.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, Inc. (165 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, NY 12144). A graveside service was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Saratoga National Cemetery (200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871).
