She was predeceased by : her parents, Earl T. LaMay and Jennie M. Sterling; her brother Paul T. LaMay; her son Edwin E. Thomas, Jr. (Lauren); and her close friend Sandra Tesch.

She is survived by : her brothers, Earl T. LaMay (Kathy) and Gary LaMay; her husband William C. VanVorst Sr. (Bill); her sons, Paul Thomas (Kelly) and Jeffrey Thomas Sr.; her stepson William C. VanVorst, Jr.; her grandsons, Jeffery Jr., Tyler, Landon and Jonathan; her great grandchildren, Theodore Edwin "Teddy Eddy" and Grayson; and her close friend Patricia Whitbeck. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
