He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Whaley and Leona Whaley. He is survived by: his close friend Patricia Hammond; his children, Kelly Years and William Whaley; his stepchildren, Carrie Ann, Donise and Shane; and his siblings, Ernest Whaley, Barbara Murphy, Marjorie Trank and Thomas Whaley. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
