He was predeceased by : his parents, Frank Chatterton and Grace Chatterton; his sister Patricia Hertzel (John); and his sons-in-law, Peter Glavin and Michael Palermo.

He is survived by : his wife Mary Margaret (Connor); his daughters, Christine Glavin, Michele DePetres (Mark) and Amy Palermo; his grandchildren, Donovan, Shauna Glavin, Jordan, Gabrielle DePetres, Cameron and Sydney Palermo; and his siblings, Ronald Chatterton (Carol), John Chatterton (Kathleen) and Judy Dayton (Robert). He is also survived by brothers & sisters-in-law; nieces & nephews, aunts & cousins.

“Mary Margaret and family I offer my sincerest sympathy to you. Jim was an awesome friend and teammate those many years ago at Gannon College. Although we only got together ,along with his other teammates in Erie, a few years ago…it was great when we communicated through Facebook and emails especially during the holidays. You can be proud of him as husband, father and friend . I pray that God gives you and the entire family strength during this difficult time. Bob And Eileen Rojik”
