He was predeceased by: his son Rashi McKenzie; his parents, Clinton McKenzie and Bessie Cummings-Howard; and his siblings, Clinton, William, Beverley and Arnold McKenzie.

He is survived by: his children, Donyell McKenzie and Chasman McKenzie; his stepmother Willie Mae McKenzie; his grandchildren, Nubia, Bryant Jr., Aijalon Cromartie, Eryka McKenzie and Donyell McKenzie Jr.; his siblings, Bruce McKenzie, Michael McKenzie (Charma), Fimone "Mona" Snipes (Elijah) and Hulando "Roman" Howard; and his sister-in-law Lorraine McKenzie. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
