He was predeceased by: his father Robert Francis Barry. He is survived by: his brother Tom; and his sons, Robert, Stephen and James. He is also survived by grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

COVID-induced pneumonia caused a swift and relatively painless passing.

“It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Don. He was a significant factor in our decision to join the Lakeview Church in 1968. Don's leadership was instrumental in the building of a new sanctuary for the Church. He continued his very loyal support of the Church and its activities to his very end. Don's memory will be entrenched in our hearts and minds. If anyone was a "pillar of the church" it was him. Losing him is losing a part of what we always regarded as Lakeview Church.”
