She was predeceased by: her husband Luther Hymes Jr.; her sisters, Janice Van Vorst, Joyce Pfleegor (Tom) and Nancy Baush (Richard); her brother-in-law Ronald LaPlant; and her parents, Henry Vorst and Rose Van Vorst.
She is survived by: her son Jason VanVorst (Maria Torres); her grandson John Schmidt (Candice); her great grandchildren, Kayden and Kai; and her siblings, Anita Gardener (Jim), Ellie LaPlant and Henry Van Vorst (Mary Lou). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
