He was predeceased by: his father James B. Bennett; and his siblings, J. C. Grace, James Charles Bennett, Sylvester Bennett, Roger Earl Bennett, Marvin Earl Bennett and Vera Mae Bennett Hemingway.
He is survived by: his mother Donella Graves Bennett of Fair Bluff, NC; his children, James DeShawn Jackson and Ebony Eugenia Jackson of Bronx, NY; and his siblings, Ronald Grace (Annie Perry) of Brooklyn, NY, Charles Edward Bennett (Carol Coward) of Thomasville, NC and Tammie Bennett Rutledge of Chadbourn, NC. He is also survived by six grandchildren; a grand host of nieces, cousins, nephews, family and friends.
