He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Schaeffer and Sophie Schaeffer. He is survived by: his wife Betty Schaeffer; his daughter Julie Hanfland (Bob); his granddaughters, Rachel and Sarah; his son Aaron Schaeffer; and his grandchild Kendall.
