He was predeceased by: his parents, Evelyn Howell and Lawrence Roswell Howell; and his siblings, Barry, Mike Howell and Nancy Thayer.

He is survived by: his significant other Diane Farnand Howell; his children, Patrick Howell (Lindsay), Paul Howell (Yane) and Margaret Howell; his grandchildren, Christian, Emrys, Elliott and Evelynna; his brother Richard Shivik (Harriett); and his siblings-in-law, Madeline Plummer, Linda Howell, Sheila Hake (Jim), Anne Farnand, Leo and Gerry Farnand.

Contributions can be made to Living Word Assembly of God, or Family Life Marriage Ministries in Gale's honor.
