He was predeceased by: his parents, Van Staves and Beulah Staves; and his siblings, Vance, Stephen Staves, Marjorie Cote and Karen LaFave.
He is survived by: his wife Maureen Staves; his daughters, Brenda Newton (Robbie) and Debbie Staves; his grandson Christopher Gluchowicz; and his sister Barbara Gagnon.
In lieu of flowers his wish was to have donations made to the Holy Cross School.
