He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Mendola and Sarah Mendola. He is survived by: his wife Rosa; his children, Sarah Kelly (Bob), Charles Mendola, Roselle Massare (Patrick) and Carrie Mendola (Harry); his grandchildren, Nicole (Brad), Jessica, John, Will, Kyle and Holly; and his siblings, Joe Mendola (Mary), Gerry Resch (Joe) and Richard Mendola. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Farrell-Ryan Funeral and Cremation Services (777 Long Pond Rd, Rochester, NY 14612). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Cross Church (4492 Lake Ave, Rochester, NY 14612).
In lieu of flowers, contributions in John's memory may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (https://www.nationalmssociety.org) or the VA National Center for PTSD.
