He is survived by: his wife Rev. Susan S. Shafer; his sister Kathy Shafer Wickwire; his grandchildren, Anna Clark, Payton Shafer, Declan Shafer, Eric Shafer, Emily Clark, Claire Clark and Keely Shafer; and his siblings-in-law, Nancy and Len Davidow.
