It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary C. Merle (Rochester, New York), who passed away on September 8, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her sister Nancy; her brother-in-law Lorin Schieb; her brother Arthur Brei; and her sister-in-law Shirley Brei. She is survived by: her husband Ron Merle; her siblings, Thomas Brei and Leanne Preston (Richard); her sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Brei and Marilyn Duryea; and her stepchildren, Darcy Sewar (Marc), Randy Merle (Christie) and Scott Merle (Lance). She is also survived by step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to the Morgan-Manning House or to Lollypop Farm, in memory of Mary.

She had the perfect blend of fun, with a no nonsense approach. Mary introduced John and I to the 1000 Islands where we had many adventures together. When Mary and Ron found each other again, we were thrilled to see how happy she was! For 56 years she was a wonderful friend….she was a gift to us and we will miss her! Debbe and John Batterton”
