He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Perry and Henrietta Perry; his siblings, Henry Caldwell, Mary Parker, Virginia Parker, Joseph Perry, Gloria Winfrey and Henrietta Hooper; and his grandson Tyler Smith.

He is survived by: his spouse Faatimah Nagi; and his son Michael Perry.
