Walter L. Lee Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on August 31, 2025, at the age of 79, Walter L. Lee (Rochester, New York), born in Kingstree, South Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruby Pressley Lee and Hartley Lee, Sr.. He is survived by: his former wife Everline Lee; his children, Jacqueline Lee, LeTicia Lee and Mitchell David Lee; his daughter-in-law Danielle Lee; his grandchildren, Brieanna Lee Blackett, Morgan Michelle Lee and Jackson Mitchell Lee; his great grandchild Ella Soleil Lee Edwards; his godsons, Anthony Duane Thomas and Anthony Wilson; his former wife Janice Harbin; Katie Veronica Lee. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Walter's memory, continuing his lifelong commitment to preserving and celebrating Black history and achievement.
