He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert and Edna; his siblings, Jack and Susan; his former life partner Denise; and his parents-in-law, Richard and Myrtle Gielow.

He is survived by : his wife Susan; his children, Dawn McGovern (Joe), Kara, Tiffany Walter (DL) and Robert (Katie); his stepsons, Paul Barry (Allison) and Mark Barry (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Sarah, Lilly, Mitchell, Sophia, Katherine, Lucy, Ella, Adelyn, Daniel, Annabelle and Kaden; and his great grandchildren, Cameryn and Xander.
