He is survived by: his wife Melinda Allen; his children, Annie Ruiz, Mariah Ruiz, Omarea Ruiz, Rosa Ruiz, Alex Ruiz, Jr. and John Ruiz; his brother Pablo; his sister-in-law Jessica Ruiz; and his grandson Samuel.
