We announce the death of Carl E. Urtz Sr. of Rome, New York, who passed away on August 12, 2026, at the age of 88. Carl will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo F. Urtz and Marjorie W. Urtz; his brother Leo Urtz; and his granddaughter Monica Mae Urtz. He is survived by: his wife Mae P. Urtz of Rome; his sons, Carl Urtz III (Karyn) of Rome and Dean Urtz (Christine) of Massachusetts; and his grandchildren, Arica Briggs (Craig), Philip Urtz (Jessica), Hannah Todora (David) and Aria Urtz. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
