He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonio Mellace and Anna Mellace; his former wife Raffaela Mungo; his siblings, Anna Commodaro and Anthony "Toto" Mellace; his sister-in-law Concetta Griffo (Gregory); his daughter-in-law Brenda Mellace; and his nephew Mattia Mellace.

He is survived by: his siblings, Agazio Mellace (Kati) and Carmen Mangione (Gabrielle); his children, Anthony Mellace of Curitiba, Brazil, Anna M. Pasqualetti (Joseph) of Rome, Angela Curry (Edward) of Spring Hill, TN, Frank Mellace Jr. (Wendy) of Rome, Gino Mellace (Joelle) of Rome, Joseph Mellace (Amy) of Rome and Michael Mellace (Rebecca) of Rome; his grandchildren, Gerald Pasqualetti (Renee), Melissa Servello (Michael), Joseph Pasqualetti, III, Kathleen Jennings (Chase), Kristin Somervell (Willis), Joseph Curry (Kristen), Jennifer Mellace (Alessandro Franchi), Frank Mellace (Molly), Michael Mellace, Anna Anggaputra (Twinadri), Olivia Honeck (Steven), Taylor Chmielewski (Adam), Nicholas Urtz, Gino Mellace, Nickolas Mellace, Joseph Mellace Jr., Sophia Mellace, Andrew Mellace, Isaiah Mellace, Amanuel Mellace, Noah Mellace, Franceska and Mark; and his wife Ruth. He is also survived by twenty-two great-grandchildren, and several nephews.
