We announce the death of Fred T Martin of Rome, New York, who passed away on July 21, 2026, at the age of 71. Fred will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Martin, Jr. and Suzanne McHenry Martin. He is survived by: his wife Betsy M. Franz; his siblings, Patricia M. Dunham, J. Russell Martin (Rusty) and Thomas P. Martin (Syracuse); his nephews, Noah Martin and Trevor Martin; and his stepchildren, Megan Franz, Bradley Gannon of Park City, UT, Peter Franz Jr., Melissa Franz of Rochester, NY, Daniel and Katherine Franz of Carmel, NY. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made in Fred's name to Humane Society of Rome, Inc., PO Box 4572, Rome, NY 13442-4572, or to those who responded to assist in the emergency; members of the NYS Police and local EMTs/First Responders, or to a charity of your choice.
