He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Harold McDonald and Anne McDonald (Senecal); his wife Margaret Cole McDonald; his brother James McDonald; and his grandson Matthew Blystone.
He is survived by: his children, Michael McDonald (Sue), Kathleen Blystone (Randy), Peggy Basubas (Ed) and David McDonald (Tracey); his siblings, Marianne DeGraaf, Patricia McDonald, Edward McDonald and David McDonald (Regina); his grandchildren, Col. Nathaniel McDonald (Faith), Lindsay Blystone, Kelsey Blystone (Tommy Nylec), Jessica Blystone, Jana Basubas, Daniel Basubas, Stephen Basubas and Steven McDonald; his great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Giovanni and Gillian; and his close friend Carol Drumluk. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
