With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James C Smith of Rome, New York, born in Edwards, New York, who passed away on August 27, 2023 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Smith and Estella H. Vansant; and his wife Barbara Burns. He is survived by: his friend Lonny Deeley; his sons, James (Elaine) and John (Patricia) of Floyd; his grandchildren, Lisa Mathy (Richard), Margarett Brownell, Brittany, Dylan, Brooke, Derek and Alysha Digristine; his great grandchildren, Hannah, Lowden, Caleb, Sophia, Charlotte, Dominick, Mackenzie and Maverick; his siblings, Jerry and Jean Smith; his daughters, Cathy Digristine and Connie Thaler; his grandchildren, Robert Smith, Stephanie Digristine and Joseph Cittadino; his sons-in-law, Steven Jordan and Charles Digristine; his brother Donnie Smith; John Pereto. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins and in-laws.
