He is survived by: his children, John Peter Thayer of Williamstown, WV, Matthew Sheldon Thayer of Falmouth, ME and Christal Rae Thayer of Ilion; his sister Rita (Frederick Hoffman); his sister-in-law Patricia Thayer of Rome; his cousin Kevin VanVechten; his nieces and nephews, Christine Dambro, Erika Sperling, Michael Thayer and Bradley Hoffman; and his grandsons, Abraham and Simon Thayer.
