We bid farewell to Marie Hollis Towne of Rome, New York, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 24, 2026 at the age of 89. Marie Hollis touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Waterman and Ethel Waterman; her daughter Cynthia M. Davis (Towne); her son-in-law Joseph A. Merlan; her granddaughter Alexandra L. Towne; and her siblings, Jane Brady, June Williams, Gail Budlong and Clarence "Bill" Waterman.
She is survived by: her children, Deborah A. Merlan (Towne) and Wayne E. Towne II (Lee); her son-in-law Charles T. Davis; and her sister Vonnie Haynes. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marie's memory to the Ziyara Shriners Transportation Fund.
