With sadness, we share the passing of Marie Mitchell of Rome, New York. Marie, born on September 7, 1938, passed away on October 20, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Fragapane and Mary Fragapane (Genovese); her husband Charles Mitchell; her granddaughter Jessica Ralbovsky-Mitchell; and her siblings, Rosemarie Campeau, Dolores Guiliano, Josephine Marullo, Frank Fragapane, Joseph Fragapane and Anthony Fragapane.
She is survived by: her children, Suzanne Mitchell-Gaulke (Garison Ely), John Mitchell (Ruth Durgan) and Charlie Mitchell (Deborah); her brother Salvatore Fragapane (Sylvia); her brother-in-law Anthony Mitchell (Donna); her grandchildren, John Mitchell Jr. "JJ" (Kristen), Austin Mitchell, Meagan Mitchell, Alisha Bettencourt and Marcus Mitchell; her stepgranddaughter Caitlin Gaulke (Mary Kelly); and her close friend Patsy Morgan. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc. (418 N George St, Rome, NY 13440). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
