It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Jane Hendrickson of Rome, New York, who passed away on October 31, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Nicasio Montalbano and Marie Antoinette Montalbano (Doria); her daughter Celeste Wurz; her siblings, Michalena Thompson (Milton), Kathleen Montalbano and Anthony Montalbano; her sisters-in-law, Laverne Montalbano and Jill Montalbano; her great-nephew Jamie Redden; her niece Vicki Montalbano (Strider); and her pets, Bella and Dilly.

She is survived by : her husband George Hendrickson, Jr.; her son George Hendrickson III (Cindy) of Westmoreland; her brothers, Phillip Montalbano (Judith) of Rome, Nicholas Montalbano of Croghan and Richard Montalbano (Julie) of Rome; her sister-in-law Louise Montalbano of Rome; her cousins, Trapper and P. Haze; and her pets, Chloe, Sam, Callie, Eddie and Freddie. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

She was an accomplished quilter and crafter who took on many projects for the children of Thea Bowman House, such as making pre-K graduation caps and gowns, naptime sheets, and child-sized COVID masks during the mask shortage.
