He was predeceased by: his parents, August Steinruck and Gertrude Steinruck (Cooper); and his siblings, David, Roy "Butch" Steinruck, Beverly Knapp and Nancy.
He is survived by: his wife Terry Steinruck; his daughter Emily Bustos (Jonathan); his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Victor and Alexander; and his brothers, Bill (Maryann) and Kenneth Steinruck (Betty Ann).
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Covert Funeral Home (7199 Main St, Ovid, NY 14521). The military honors was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the New York State Veteran's Cemetery - Finger Lakes (6632 NY-96A, Romulus, NY 14541).
