He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Hutchinson (James Beaver) and Oscar Barbosa (Frances Witt); his son Steven Babrosa; and his sisters, Addlie Elworthow and Carol Keys.
He is survived by: his wife Goldie Barbosa (Waterman); his children, Tammy Barbosa and James Barbosa, Jr.; his sisters, Rose Marie Hedge and Jeanette Barbosa; and his stepchildren, Michael Miller, Carl Miller, Shirley Munson (Bruce), Catherine Capriotti (Peter), Lewis Miller (Dorrie), Myrtle Kline and James Johns (Amanda Hines). He is also survived by 50 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
