He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Sweeny and Dorothy Sweeny; his uncles, John Sweeny (Norma), Alan Sweeny (Ethel), Philip Sweeny (Helen) and Robert Platt (Colette); his brother-in-law Robert Brewster; his niece Cristin Cleary-Mills; his former wife Donna Sweeny; and his cousins, Laura Perry (Norris) and Garry Platt (Sheryl).
He is survived by: his siblings, R. Michael Sweeny (Nicole), Eileen Guise (James) and Maureen Brewster; his stepchildren, Garry, Jason Hite and Noell Loe; his niece Keri Guise (Billy); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Alyssa and Elliana; his nephew Scott Guise (Heather); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jesse, Dylan, Derek and Jeremy; his nephew Ryan Mills (Danni-Lynn); his nephews, Quinn Sweeny and Adam Sweeny; his close friends, Jim and Maribeth Welch; Westin.
As an alternative to flowers memorials may be made in his name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
