He was predeceased by : his parents, John Patouhas and Mary Patouhas. He is survived by : his former life partner Christine of Rye, NY; his children, John, Christian, Peter and James; and his sisters, Patricia Straehle (George) and Penelope Costello. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made in Philips name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
