He was predeceased by : his wife JoAnne. He is survived by : his children, Laura, Carl (Elizabeth) and Christopher; his sister MaryAnne Thomas Kowalewski; his grandchildren, Gavin, Kathryn, Lauren, Kieran and Claire; and his aunt MaryAnne. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
