He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Elizabeth McCandless and Russell Albert McCandless. He is survived by: his wife Carmella Susan McCandless; his children, Lindsay Marrero (Efren) and D. Gregory McCandless Jr.; his grandsons, Franklin and Benjamin Marrero; and his siblings, Rory McCandless (Theresa), Peggy Koval (Andy), David McCandless (Diane) and Suellen Murray (Jim). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to his favorite charity, The Special Olympics.
