He is survived by: his mother Sharon [Brunning] Busch (Clyde); his wife Joanne [Kirkland] Sharpsteen; his children, Justin, Austin Sharpsteen (Rebecca), Aaron Morrison (Aarika) and Sarah Walker (Daniel); his grandchildren, Nora and Ansley; and his siblings, Brandon Sharpsteen (Dawn), Daniel Busch (Addy), Laura Schul (Michael) and Brenee McKinney (David). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in his name to Niagara Hospice.

Though he lived in New York for a big part of his life, Slade’s southern charm and manners were obvious to all. To be a guest in his home was to know the true spirit of hospitality and friendship. Our paths haven’t crossed in recent years but our family is very grateful for the good times and great memories we made traveling down polo road. Rest easy dear friend, you will be missed.”
