James R. Griffis Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James R. Griffis of Saugerties, New York, born in Hallstead, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 5, 2023 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Griffis and Jane Griffis; his wife Barbara; and his brother Jack Griffis. He is survived by: his children, James Griffis of Broomfield, CO, Patty Griffis of Saugerties, Pam Kaufman (David) of Saugerties, Marlyn Griffis of Albany and Barbara Houlihan (Tom) of Loudonville; his sisters, Betty Brunges and Carol Peckins of Montrose, PA; his grandchildren, Jonathan, Stephanie, Stacie Kaufman, Michael Griffis and Anna Jane Griffis; and his stepgrandchildren, Dennis and Thomas Houlihan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
