She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Newkirk and Laura Mauterstock Newkirk; her husband James; and her siblings, Marion, Mildred, Benjamin and William "Bud" Newkirk.

She is survived by: her children, James (Anne-Marie Miller) of Saugerties and Dianne Gengler (Chris); and her grandchildren, Christopher, Kaitlyn, Brian Gengler, Jimmy and Danny Miller.
