He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Yorker (Gertrude Goldberg) and New Yorker; and his brother Alan Gallant. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Eichor Goldberg; his daughter Caryn Anne Woods Maggio; his grandson Samuel Aiden Woods; his son Jeffery Mark Goldberg (Susan Walz); and his cousins, Phillip Goldberg (Judy) and Stewart Nacht.
Memorial donations may be made to the Nature Conservancy, Audubon, Catskill Food Bank, and World Wildlife Fund.
