It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ceceila E. Ahearn (Schenectady, New York), born in Mechanicville, New York, who passed away on May 14, 2026, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband John D. Ahearn Sr.; her parents, Philomena Palmer (Lupo) and John Palmer; her son James "Jim" Ahearn; and her brother Peter Palmer.
She is survived by: her sons, John D. Jr. of Marblehead, MA, Joseph D. Ahearn of Lake Placid, NY and Thomas M. (Maureen) of Hamburg, NY; and her grandsons, Alexander, Matthew of Marblehead, MA and Tyler of Hamburg, NY. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Glenville Funeral Home (9 Glenridge Rd, Glenville, NY 12302). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Church of the Immaculate Conception (400 Saratoga Rd, Schenectady, NY 12302). A burial will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Gerald B. H. Solomon National Cemetery (200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871).
In lieu of flowers, Ceil asked that memorial donations be made on her behalf to Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Saratoga Road, Glenville, New York 12302, or to a charity of one's choice.
