He is survived by: his children, Kevin (Leslie Ponzini) and Carrie Hillenbrandt (John); his grandchildren, Erin Wyatt, Sydney and Lyndsey Hillenbrandt; and his brother John Barosso.
He went on to work at the SUNY Research Foundation, from which he eventually retired.
