She is survived by: her husband Andrew Gefre; her sister Arlene Balasco; her children, Thomas Conto, Jr. and Dennis Conto (June); and her grandchildren, Angela Horvath (Taylor), Gina Ralston (Jason), Deanna Francisco (Jeff), Julie Mercoglan, Elise Conto, Deidre Conto (Michael), Dennis Conto, Jr. (Candance) and Dylan Conto (Izabella). She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan Ann's name to the ASPCA or to St. Madeleine Sophie Church, an act that would honor her love for animals and her deep faith.
