Maria D'Elia Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Maria D'Elia of Schenectady, New York, who passed away on October 1, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Antonio Nardozza and Maria Antonia Nardozza; and her siblings, Caterina, Rocco and Pietro.
She is survived by: her husband Giuseppe D'Elia; her brother Franco; her children, Maria Antonietta Knowles (Lance), Giovanna Baier and Vincenzo D'Elia; her grandchildren, Maria-Cristina Priest (Cha), Giuseppe Carberg (MiKaylee), Christian Baier, Giuseppe D'Elia, Liliana D'Elia, Santino D'Elia, Giada D'Elia and Cateleya Sheffer-D'Elia; her great grandchild Lorraina Marie Priest; and her pet Luca Meatball. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Anthony's Church (331 Seward Pl, Schenectady, NY 12305). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Maria's memory to the American Cancer Society to support pancreatic cancer research, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, or St. Jude's Comprehensive Cancer Center.
