He was predeceased by: his mother Lillian Calkins; and his stepson Bryan Jones. He is survived by: his wife Claudia Calkins; his children, Amy DePuy (Jonathan), William Salerno (Frank), Crystal Revels (John) and Melanie Quinn (Jack); and his stepchildren, Daniel Calkins, Beverely Evans (Gary) and Kenneth Jones. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice or NYS Sheriffs Benevolent Association in Newell's honor.
