He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Askew and Elizabeth "Betty" Askew (Sakacs); his former wife Pearl Askew (Hebert); his daughter Catherine DeGenaro; and his brother Arthur "Bill" Askew.

He is survived by: his wife Thelma Askew (McBurney); his daughters, Linda Moran (John) of Saratoga and Christine Volans (Charles) of Princetown; his brother Andrew "Paul" Askew of Amsterdam; and his son-in-law Mike DeGenaro of Rotterdam. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several niece and nephews.
