He was predeceased by : his parents, Howard Balkin and Susanne Weil Balkin. He is survived by : his wife Tzinia; his children, Miguel Howard, Alex Martin, Pedro Roberto Stone, Emily Paris and Alice Camila; his brothers, Jeff, Mark and Rick; his siblings-in-law, Randee, Ellen, Melissa, Rosie and Diego; his aunt Marylin; his cousins, Chuck, Kristian, Cheri, Janet, Joe, Lisa and Ilena; and his nieces and nephews, Drew, Josh, Jordan, Tori, Abigail, Gabriela, Isabel, Mariana and Olivia.
In searching for healing from cancer, in 2020 he did a scouting road trip with his family driving from Queretaro, Mexico to Albany New York, arriving the same day the Covid Pandemic was declared an emergency.
