William J. Schmitt Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William J. Schmitt (Schenectady, New York), who passed away on October 7, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Schmitt and Mary Schmitt (Westerkamp); his brother Michael Schmitt; and his wife Margaret Schmitt (Kawa). He is survived by: his siblings, Robert (Helen), John (Nancy) and Mary Kay Peters (Reg); his children, Constance "Connie" Miller (Scott), Paul Schmitt (Kim), Mark Schmitt and Frank Schmitt (Michelle); and his grandchildren, Caitlyn, Paige Miller, Emily, Tyler Schmitt, Parker, Lydia, Catie, Rose and Martin Schmitt.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Glenville Funeral Home (9 Glenridge Rd, Schenectady, NY 12302). A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Anthony's Cemetery (27 Glenridge Rd, Schenectady, NY 12302).
