He was predeceased by : his parents, Donald L. Ernst and Julia E. Ernst (Coffinger). He is survived by : his wife Sandra Ernst (Heineman) of Schuylerville; his children, Joshua Lee Ernst (Leslie Ann) of Grand Gorge, NY and Sarah Bodnar (Ed) of Schuylerville; his grandchildren, Grampy, Skyler Fullington (Kevin), Taylor Ernst, Austin Ernst, Ava Bodnar and Emmalyn Ernst; and his brother Donald Ernst of Florida.
In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Saratoga National Honor Guard Association at 200 Duell Rd, Suite 1, Schuylerville, NY, 12871.
