He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Bott and Mary Donohue Bott; his sisters, Julia Barto and Mary Hall; and his former wife Carol.
He is survived by: his children, Michele Bott Rackmyre and Kurtis Bott of Broadalbin; his close friend Amy Bunzey; his siblings, Joseph Bott (Penny) of Gloversville and Carol Couture (Eugene) of Newport Center, VT; his sister-in-law Susann Lull of Amsterdam; his granddaughters, Morgan Fryc (Jeff) and Marlysa Rackmyre; and his great grandchildren, Makenna and Jordan.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc. (111 Co Rd 106, Johnstown, NY 12095). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Halgas Funeral Home (111 Co Rd 106, Johnstown, NY 12095). A burial will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Gerald B. H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery (200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871).
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #337 or to Fisher House at Stratton VA Medical Center, in care of the funeral home.
