He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Smith and Elizabeth O'Brien; his close friend Jean O'Brien; his children, Kathleen Houghton (Brendan), Kelly O'Brien (Patricio Sorensen) and William O'Brien (Chausey Ashey); his grandchildren, Connor, Maggie, Max, Liam, Ian, Wendy and Owen; and his brothers, Michael O'Brien (Marjory), Brendan O'Brien (Eileen), Kevin O'Brien (Linda) and Sean O'Brien.
