He was predeceased by : his parents, Roy V. Smith and Mabel A. Smith (Holbrook); his son Gordon E. Smith; and his brother Duane R. Smith. He is survived by : his wife Leona Lou (Sherman); his children, Scott Smith (Melissa) and Joanne Littler; his grandchildren, Ryan Littler, Leanna Littler-Woolf (Bryan) and Trevor Littler (Brittany); and his brother Gene Smith (Dorothy).

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Foster Funeral Home (910 Fay St, Fulton, NY 13069). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 at the Vermillion Cemetery (163 Johnson Rd, Mexico, NY 13114).
