He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond McDermott and Mary McDermott (DeSanto); his siblings, James McDermott (Carol), David McDermott, Mary Rose Traub and Margaret Mary McDermott; and his sister-in-law Debra McDermott.

He is survived by: his wife Annette Carnevale of Patrick's Church; his sons, John (Andrea Lawrence) and Chad McDermott (Christine); his granddaughters, Lauren and Danielle McDermott; his siblings, Ray, Robert McDermott and Helen Wanner; and his brother-in-law David Traub. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, extended family, and many friends.
